We offer professional education, practical tools and the latest on new services, as well as our awareness campaigns and community-building efforts in support of health professionals.
In 2021, we made a 3-year commitment to support pharmacists in their increasingly challenging role in the primary care ecosystem – a world where there is a much greater focus on everyday health and self-care.
At Haleon, we believe we have a responsibility to support pharmacists at the frontline of everyday health, to understand the needs of their patients and the barriers that pharmacists face in improving health outcomes.
COVID-19 prompted people to seek advice from pharmacists, more often on minor ailments1.
In 2021, at the height of COVID-19, we made global commitments to pharmacists and their associated teams to support them and their evolving role in the primary care ecosystem - a world increasingly focused on the role of self-care in everyday health.

We know from our partnerships with community pharmacists that critical barriers exist to pharmacy teams playing a more active role in self-care and disease prevention. The roundtable discussion and outcomes were made available in a report, Standing with Pharmacists in the Age of Self-Care. Following these findings, we went on to make a commitment to deliver bespoke support, training, and tools for pharmacists as part of a 3-year Pharmacist Support Programme. So far, tools and resources have been made available to pharmacists and their teams on the topic of workload efficiency and mental resilience.
One of our current focus areas is health literacy – helping pharmacists to identify and support customers and patients with health literacy challenges wherever they are in the world.

Changing patient behaviour is paramount if we want to achieve better outcomes and improve their periodontal health. Bespoke tools have been developed with behavioural change professionals to evoke change in patient self-care and inspire positive oral care habits.
We are taking action to address the everyday health impact of air pollution. The Breathe Better pledge seeks to raise awareness and provide advice for the prevention and management of the impacts of air pollution on health to help patients breathe better.
Looking after the health and wellbeing of pharmacists is critical to enable them to excel in their roles in the age of self-care. In partnership with the Global Resilience Team (GRiT), a group of professionals who share a common interest and passion about pharmacy workforce resilience, we co-created a suite of resources specifically for pharmacists, that recognises the unique role of pharmacy as well as the stressors pharmacists have experienced.
